FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wojan Window & Door
Charlevoix, Mich. (December 2017) - Wojan Window & Door, a commercial window manufacturer headquartered in Charlevoix, Mich., has been awarded a grant by the State of Michigan for 2018 through the Skilled Trades Training Fund Program.
The STTF program, established in 2013, offers employers financial support to conduct job-related training to advance worker skills and encourage additional company growth. Wojan will be partnering with instructors from North Central Michigan College in Petoskey, Mich. to conduct the training courses, which are scheduled to begin in January and will include employees from both their Charlevoix and Coldwater, Mich. factories.
Wojan plans to concentrate on Lean Management Principles and Practices through classroom training courses and the application of these principles to real-plant projects. A number of employees received introductory training on the subject through STTF in 2015, so expanding on that was a natural next step. Leadership at the company regards this opportunity as one more way to engage employees and to continue their effort at streamlining operational efficiencies.
